This time in our Climecon team spotlight, we’re heading to our factory in Kausala. Eero is originally from near Tampere, about 180 km north-west of the capital city Helsinki, and his studies eventually led him to Kausala. Trained as an engineer in wood technology, Eero made the transition from wood to steel when he joined Climecon as a test engineer. Today, he works as a product development engineer, with his role having expanded from testing to product development projects and product design—particularly in the area of air terminal devices.

A favorite among customers, Veli-Matti knows snow and rain covers, roof hoods, and hoods like the back of his hand. Veli-Matti, or Velsu as he’s known to friends, has been working at Climecon since 1999. In addition to his sales role, he also helps manage products for snow and rain covers, and roof hoods together with the Product Manager. His enthusiasm for his work is as strong as it was at the start of his career, and as a thrill-seeker, Velsu is always ready for new adventures.
The costs of a construction project do not end when the building site is completed. The real expenses accumulate over the entire lifecycle of the building: from energy use, maintenance, and the lifespan of the systems. When new systems are put out to tender, the purchase price alone does not reveal the total cost of the investment. The Life Cycle Costs show which solution is truly sensible both economically and environmentally. When solutions are designed to be long-lasting and energy-efficient, the building consumes less energy, emissions decrease, and indoor air quality remains high year after year.
Unbalanced ventilation system is not energy efficient and often leads to indoor air problems. When the devices and the airflow rates are dimensioned correctly, just the right amount of air goes to the right place – not too little nor too much. In this way, the entire ventilation system works as planned. A properly adjusted ventilation system is energy efficient, air distribution is controlled, even and quiet.
Climecon participated in its first EcoVadis sustainability assessment last year and achieved a bronze medal. Now, just a year later, our company’s sustainability work has received significant recognition: Climecon has risen to the silver level. This year, Climecon’s score increased from 62 to 71 out of a possible 100 points.
For example in Finland, the construction sector plays a key role in achieving climate goals. Buildings account for nearly 40% of total energy consumption, and the built environment generates about one-third of carbon dioxide emissions. Climecon is proud to support 23-year-old sailor Viivi Moisio, who is preparing for the greatest challenge of her life: the Globe 580 Transat solo sailing race across the Atlantic next year. If Viivi succeeds, she will become the first Finnish woman ever to sail solo across the Atlantic. Viivi is pursuing this goal with courage, skill, and determination – values that we also share.

This time, we want to introduce the HVAC design veteran Petri Vilkman. Petri has been part of the professional kitchen team for about five years as a technical designer. He also provides technical support for clients regarding hoods and professional kitchen equipment inquiries. Petri has extensive experience in various HVAC design and consulting work.
