As project sizes increase and schedules become tighter, it is increasingly important for contractors to work with partners who operate transparently, provide timely support, and maintain control of the overall project throughout all phases. In particularly demanding design-and-build projects, this is reflected in smooth collaboration and the confidence that agreed matters progress as planned. This is also supported by products that are built to work reliably as part of a larger system and in the project’s day‑to‑day operations.

Nanunkallio School and Daycare reflect the needs of demanding projects

The Nanunkallio school includes grades 1–6, special education, preparatory and preschool education, after-school activities, and sports facilities. The project also includes a five-group daycare for 105 children and a central production kitchen. The production kitchen is scheduled to begin operations in spring 2027, with teaching in the new school facilities starting in August 2027.

The production kitchen will have a capacity of approximately 4,000 meals per day, placing exceptionally high demands on ventilation in terms of both technical performance and overall project manageability.

High production volumes and varying usage conditions make ventilation a critical factor in the functionality of the kitchen and the smooth execution of the entire project. We supplied the site with professional kitchen ventilation solutions designed to support predictable system management and respond to the changing loads of a large-scale kitchen. At the core of the system is the OptiDemand DCKV system with remote management, which adjusts ventilation based on actual demand and supports predictive maintenance.

The system at Nanunkallio School serves as an energy-efficiency pilot project for the City of Rauma. During the operational phase, the city will verify the estimated energy cost savings based on measured performance. In addition, feedback on the performance of the ventilation system will be collected from kitchen staff during use. The City of Rauma aims to reduce emissions by at least 80% by 2030, compared to the 2007 baseline.

When a project requires more than just a product, we step in as a partner

The contractor particularly praised the smooth customer service, reliable deliveries, and ease of collaboration throughout the project. Work progressed without friction, support was readily available, and the overall project remained under control from start to finish.

Our Sales Manager, Niko Aavikko, summarizes the feedback as follows: “Contractors especially appreciate how easy it is to work with us. Things move quickly and there is immediate support.”

Reliable performance for demanding environments

Our solutions are designed to support the contractor’s day-to-day work. They are easy to install and use, long-lasting, and highly reliable, maintaining their settings while requiring minimal maintenance. This saves time and costs and, above all, reduces uncertainty on site. As projects grow in scale, technical requirements increase as well. We don’t compromise on performance, energy efficiency, design, or system reliability. Our solutions are specifically designed to meet the needs of demanding projects.
