Get to know: Technical designer Petri Vilkman

This time, we want to introduce the HVAC design veteran Petri Vilkman. Petri has been part of the professional kitchen team for about five years as a technical designer. He also provides technical support for clients regarding hoods and professional kitchen equipment inquiries. Petri has extensive experience in various HVAC design and consulting work. It is no secret in the office what music genre Petri is a fan of – it becomes clear immediately from his phone’s ringtone.

Climecon’s brand and products were already familiar to Petri from previous workplaces, so the move to the company felt natural. Nordic origin, quality, and the longevity of products are things that Petri particularly values – as well as Climecon’s good leadership culture. It is also important to him that the employer is entirely domestic. Primarily, Petri works with Finnish clients, but design work is also done for the Nordic countries.

According to Petri, the best thing about Climecon is the strong team spirit: “Here, we all work together – both in the whole company and in our professional kitchen team.” The content and background of the work support each other well: “I am already a second-generation HVAC designer – my father has the same background. In this job, practical problem-solving combines with modern technology. The industry has a tremendous amount of opportunities to do things smarter and more responsibly and to see the results of your work concretely in buildings,” Petri explains.

When asked about his hobbies, Petri responds: “My hobbies include maintaining a detached house, which brings a nice bit of work to my daily life. I enjoy spending time in nature and being active. I particularly like jogging, running, and swimming, as long as I can do them without equipment. I have previously worked as a DJ, and although I am not as active in gigs anymore, I still occasionally play electronic music for my own enjoyment.”
