Climecon Receives Silver in EcoVadis Assessment – Determined Sustainability Work Pays Off

Climecon participated in its first EcoVadis sustainability assessment last year and achieved a bronze medal. Now, just a year later, our company’s sustainability work has received significant recognition: Climecon has risen to the silver level. This year, Climecon’s score increased from 62 to 71 out of a possible 100 points.

EcoVadis is an internationally recognized sustainability assessment system that examines companies in four areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable sourcing. Based on the assessment, Climecon is now in the top 14 percent of the companies assessed – we increased our result by 11 percent from the previous year. In addition, we represent the top 5% of the general-purpose machinery manufacturing industry. The silver medal is a sign of systematic and long-term sustainability work.

With a forerunner mindset towards a more sustainable future

The rise from bronze to silver in a year shows Climecon’s ability to tackle development targets and drive forward sustainability work with determination.

Sustainability requirements in the construction sector are growing, and so are our goals. It is not about individual measures, but a comprehensive change in which sustainability is truly part of the business strategy,” says sustainability specialist Emma Piha.

Climecon wants to continue to be a trendsetter in sustainability – and the silver EcoVadis rating is strong proof that we are on the right track.

EcoVadis is the world’s largest producer of corporate sustainability assessments, having assessed the sustainability work of over 130,000 companies from over 220 industries and 180 countries. EcoVadis’ assessment criteria are based on the world’s leading standards guiding sustainable development, such as the GRI metrics, UNGC and ISO 26000. The company’s sustainability level is assessed on a scale of 0–100.

Manage life cycle costs effectively – energy-saving smart ventilation

The costs of a construction project do not end when the building site is completed. The real expenses accumulate over the entire lifecycle of the building: from energy use, maintenance, and the lifespan of the systems. When new systems are put out to tender, the purchase price alone does not reveal the total cost of the investment. The Life Cycle Costs show which solution is truly sensible both economically and environmentally. When solutions are designed to be long-lasting and energy-efficient, the building consumes less energy, emissions decrease, and indoor air quality remains high year after year.
