Climecon to support promising young sailor Viivi Moisio in solo sailing competition across the Atlantic

We’re excited to announce our support for 22-year-old sailor Viivi Moisio! Viivi already has extensive experience in sailing, and now she is aiming higher than ever before. Her next major project is the challenging Globe 580 Transat race, a solo sailing race across the Atlantic without any outside assistance. Along the way, only one thing will decide: who is the most skilled and tenacious sailor, and that is what Viivi intends to be. She is determined to win the entire race. Viivi is preparing for the race in the winter of 2026 and is building her own boat. Her journey is full of grit, skill, and determination – exactly the qualities we admire. We’re proud to be part of this adventure right from the beginning.

A race that demands guts

All participants sail identical 5.80-meter boats, making it a fair but fiercely competitive event. Success comes down to pure talent, tactics, speed – and a whole lot of courage. The sailors face a 3,000-nautical-mile journey from Lanzarote to Antigua. Since its launch in 2021, the race has gained international attention and continues to attract new entrants. Female sailors are still rare – Viivi is one of just a few.

Viivi’s boat, called Flow, is a unique 5.80-meter sailboat designed for self-building. She ordered the hull from the Netherlands and is now working hard on finishing the vessel. Flow is very compact in size, which brings its own challenges in everything – choosing equipment, packing and sailing itself. The goal is to launch the boat in spring 2026.

A promising young sailor

Viivi started sailing at the age of eight, and her passion was ignited soon after. After high school, she moved on to ocean sailing. One of her biggest adventures so far was the 2023–2024 Ocean Globe Race, a round-the-world race. Viivi was part of the Finnish crew of the Galiana WithSecure boat and gained valuable practical experience from the race. The experience not only sharpened her skills but also opened doors to the international sailing community.
