Kausala factory was equipped with solar power plant

Climecon’s factory in Kausala was equipped with solar panels in June. Almost 250 solar panels were installed on the roof of the Kausala factory. The investment is a continuation of our carbon neutrality and responsibility work, which we will also continue in the future.

Better indoor air with responsible operations

We at Climecon have a year behind us as a carbon-neutral company, which we were among the first ones to achieve in the construction and building services industry in Finland. Carbon neutrality can be achieved either by moving to a completely carbon-neutral technology or by balancing the CO2 emissions of operations by sequestering an amount of CO2 equivalent to emissions from the atmosphere. This year, in the first quarter, we have offset our emissions to the extent that we are unable to eliminate them ourselves. We are also committed to offsetting emissions from our operations for the remainder of the year. Our carbon neutrality calculations are based on the internationally used GHG protocol. The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, or GHG protocol, is a global standard for calculating the carbon footprint.

Green electricity

The sun is a renewable energy source that is environmentally friendly without harmful emissions. The electricity we buy is also green.

Our goal is to ensure that our operations do not cause any emissions. There are many concrete ways to achieve this. These include, for example, the changing of factory trucks to electric ones, the addition of electric car charging points to office and factory car parks, and the replacement of all lamps with LED lamps. Modern production consumes little energy. Every Climecon employee also strives to reduce their carbon footprint through their actions.

Taking responsibility together for the world

Climecon has been a corporate sponsor of the John Nurminen Foundation since 2020. The Foundation’s activities aim to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the Baltic Sea for future generations. The foundation’s concrete actions and the same values were seen as very important reasons to start the cooperation. We have also sponsored two responsible racing sailors, Ari Huusela and Oskari Muhonen, with whom we share our love of the sea and nature.

Vent. X tips – adding obstacles

Obstacles in the path of the air flow affect the throw patterns of the air terminal devices. By modeling the obstacles in the space, their effect on the throw pattern of the selected air terminal device and the air movement can be studied. This information helps to choose the right air terminal devices for the space and to place them optimally so for example, the airflow turning down from the barrier does not cause draft problems.
