“Construction and housing have a significant impact on climate change, as they account for up to 30% of Finland’s emissions. The companies in the sector play an important role in meeting the climate goals. With the Science Based Targets initiative, we want to show that a responsible way of acting will continue to mean concrete actions for us We are a forerunner in our field, developing human-centric indoor air solutions that take into account the well-being of people, buildings and the environment,” says CEO Tommi Uksila.

In addition, we will set a public goal to reduce emissions in the value chain (Scope 3). We will reduce Climecon’s value chain emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to 2023.
“The climate goals accepted by SBTi are a significant step that increases the transparency, concreteness and measurability of Climecon’s climate work for our customers and other stakeholders. We will report annually on our progress”, comments sustainability specialist Emma Piha.
What is Science Based Targets?
Science Based Targets (SBT) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies to participate in mitigating the climate crisis. The project’s drivers are, for example, the UN and the nature conservation organization WWF. Through SBT’s initiative, companies can set an emission reduction goal, the purpose of which is to slow down climate change. As the name suggests, the goals of the SBT project are based on climate science.
