Get to know: Product Development Engineer Eero Kahilaniemi

This time in our Climecon team spotlight, we’re heading to our factory in Kausala. Eero is originally from near Tampere, about 180 km north-west of the capital city Helsinki, and his studies eventually led him to Kausala. Trained as an engineer in wood technology, Eero made the transition from wood to steel when he joined Climecon as a test engineer. Today, he works as a product development engineer, with his role having expanded from testing to product development projects and product design—particularly in the area of air terminal devices.

Eero joined Climecon while looking for a new direction in his career: “Climecon was looking for someone, and I was looking for a fresh start. The testing work immediately caught my interest,” Eero recalls. “The best thing about Climecon is definitely the great people. The Kausala team in particular is excellent—good team spirit and working together make the workdays enjoyable.”

Challenges are part of the job, but that’s exactly where its appeal lies: “It’s exciting to get to create something new and work with prototypes. The best part is seeing your work move from a computer screen into a real prototype and ultimately into a functional, manufacturable product.”

The product development team describes Eero as a calm and genuinely pleasant colleague. He handles his tasks efficiently, carefully, and with precision, and no product development task is unfamiliar to him.

In his free time, Eero enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. Ice hockey has been part of his life for years through recreational play. His heart naturally beats for his hometown team, as loyalty demands. Running and outdoor activities are part of his everyday life, and he also spends time with his 3- and 6-year-old children, playing various ball games, among other activities.
