In the summer, Climecon got a new addition to its team when Emma Piha started as a sustainability expert. As the responsibility expert, she is responsible for the planning, development, and reporting of our responsibility work.

At Climecon, we have three years behind us as a carbon-neutral company, which we achieved as one of the first in the entire FInland’s construction and building technology sector. We take responsibility into account in product development and strive to reduce the carbon footprint of our products whenever possible. The goal is for all our products to be RTS EPD verified by 2025.

“It’s great to be able to work for a company that genuinely takes sustainable development into account in business.”

From the new job, Emma expected that she would really get her hands in the clay in matters of responsibility. We have not let her down, as she has already been able to participate in various tasks such as making EPD calculations, developing the responsibility network and environmental system, and building the climate road map. “I am motivated to work on developing responsibility practices in an environment where I can utilize my knowledge of both business and sustainable development,” says Emma. Emma also praises the Climecon team. “Everyone is really relaxed and fun, and it’s nice to come to work. There is always a good mood in the office.”

Emma is a barefoot Helsinki native, but her interest in other cultures and traveling has taken her to live in Spain, Mexico and Australia. In Spain and Mexico, Emma studied sustainable development and international trade. As a fun fact about Emma, she was a familiar sight in Australia on construction sites in painter’s overalls. Fluent in Spanish. Emma’s hobbies include weightlifting and swimming, in addition to traveling.
