Accoya charms in building and construction – and now in ventilation too

Accoya® pine offers an interior designer, a renovator, or a builder a high-quality material for adding the sophisticated warmth of wood into a modern home. Sustainable is quintessential to the material, and it refers to both Accoya’s environmentally friendly production as well as to its durability and longevity.

The strong material endures heat and moisture

The Nordic style takes inspiration from nature, which in interior decor is often reflected in wooden elements. Traditionally, wood, like other organic materials, reacts to conditions, which Accoya’s acetic anhydride treatment significantly reduces. The treatment results in the remarkably high dimensional stability of the wood, its tolerance towards humidity and heat, as well as its rot resistance.

Thanks to the treatment, the wood retains its shape and suits also wet and hot spaces such as bathrooms, utility rooms, and saunas. The rigid wood does not swell or warp and will not require significant maintenance during its life cycle.

An ecological alternative

Accoya® is made from abundantly available and fast-growing pine trees that act as effective carbon sinks during their growing season. All raw material for Accoya® comes from well-managed and environmentally compliant forests with FSC, PEFC, or other regional certifications. Accoya® has also been awarded the official Nordic eco label .

Accoya® wood is treated naturally, so its handling or use do not burden the environment, nor does it emit harmful substances into its surroundings.

Standarden har också legat till grund för produktutvecklingen av OptiLumo – Climecons ljus armatur för kökskåpor i professionella kök.
