Description
Demand-controlled de-icing heating reduces energy consumption
Intelligent snow and ice melting in the louvre system ensures that ventilation always operates at optimum performance. The system monitors temperature and detects snow accumulation on the louvre. Because de-icing is activated only when required, unnecessary energy consumption is avoided. The sensitivity of the snow detection system is factory-set, but it can – and should – be fine-tuned to suit the specific conditions of each installation.
De-icing heating control available for all TUISKU snow and rain covers
By preventing the build-up of ice and frost, pressure losses remain within the designed limits and excessive structural loads are avoided. The de-icing system is available for both single- and multi-section TUISKU units, with vertical or horizontal louvres, and for both flush-mounted and surface-mounted snow and rain covers.
TUISKU-AF snow and rain covers are equipped with a self-regulating heating cable designed for outdoor use. The products’ design, functionality, and electrical safety have been approved by SGS Fimko in accordance with EN 60335. The unit’s rated output is 1.485 kW/m² at 0°C.
The system consists of:
- A TUISKU snow and rain cover equipped with a self-regulating heating cable designed for demanding conditions, installed on both the front and rear louvre sections.
- An additional support grille that secures the heating cable firmly against the surfaces of the front and rear louvres.
- A drainage tray with de-icing heating cable and drain connection.
- Junction boxes and connection cables.
- Snow and ice detection sensor together with a temperature sensor.
- A control and power unit. Three standard power versions are available: 5.5 kW, 11 kW, and 18 kW. Larger systems up to 34 kW can be supplied on request.
