TUISKU-AF Anti-frost

TUISKU-AF louver with a heating element is designed to be used in locations where ice and frost build up on the surface of the louver due to weather circumstances. De-frosting prevents clogging and the increase of pressure loss.

Material

Galvanized steel + painting, Marine aluminium + painting, Stainless steel + painting, Acid resistant steel + painting, Corten steel, Copper, Brass

Yes

Direction of vanes

Horizontal vanes, Vertical vanes

Installation method

Surface or flush mounting

Description

TUISKU-AF prevents frost and ice from forming onto the surface of TUISKU louvers.

The most usuals use-cases for such a technology are at coastal areas, skiing centers, and where ever ice build-up is common.

Anti-frost for all TUISKU models

When ice and frost are melted away, the pressure loss can be managed and the devices do not burden the building structures.

TUISKU-AF is available for singular or multi-piece TUISKU installations, for vertical or horizontal vanes, and for flush or surface mounted TUISKU louver models.

A self-regulatory heating cable is incorporated into TUISKU-AF-models. Their structure and performance have been proven to fulfill the requirements of the EN60335 standard by SGS Fimko. The power usage of the devices is 1,485 kW / m².

Take into consideration while dimensioning

  • 230 V. 1,485 kW / m². 16A (Type C)
  • We recommend heating during times when ice and frost formation is foreseeable.
  • In case ice forms on the surface of the products during severe frost, the ventilation should be switched off for about an hour so that the defrost heating heats the surface of the vanes and melts the ice.
  • Maximum recommended supply air flow velocity is 0,7 m/s
  • Surface mounted louvres contain a connection pipe size D 50 for a plastic waste pipe.
  • Flush mounted models contain a 1 ¼ inch brass connection with a hose clamp to a waste pipe.
  • If ice forms on the surface during severe frost, the ventilation should be switched off for about an hour so that the defrost heating heats the surface of the louvre and melts the ice.
